NASS Oxford Race It was a drag race under Spinnaker down the Bay to the Choptank R before heading up to the finish line by Tred Avon YC in Oxford. Bobby D kept us on our toes flying the kite-like spinnaker as the wind shifted up to 40d. One of the most beautiful days ever sailing on the Bay with following winds 7-17k. Fun after race raft up with friends, party ashore, drinks and chocolate martinis at the Robert Morris Inn. Finished right in the middle of the competitive A2 fleet, 15/30, maybe we should have kept the spinnaker up during the leg up the Choptank R, but boats around us were rounding up and out of control while others caught up b y the Choptank Light.
Best in Pasadena 2013 ASE is proud to accept this award for the third consecutive year.

Annapolis to Newport Race June 7. UPDATE We had a good race to Newport and was able to capture 3rd place after a slow start. Many friends and family followed us on the tracker. Follow the Wharf Rat Race Team as we sail out of the Bay, over the CBBT and out to Chesapeake Light before heading N to Newport. The big question becomes which course to follow; inshore trying to pick up land breezes, rhomb line for shortest distance, into the Gulf Stream for the current or offshore for possible big winds .We'll carry a transponder so you can track us virtually seeing our place, course and conditions along with our competitors.
